 In Uncategorized

Happy 2022! It’s a brand new year, a perfect time to make some memories and have some new adventures! However, the cold winter weather can certainly put a damper on having fun. That’s why we’ve curated this list of local indoor activities for your family and friends to enjoy!

Children’s Museum of Atlanta

The Children’s Museum of Atlanta offers a wide range of exciting, educational, and developmental activities for toddlers through young middle schoolers, as well as their parents. Grown-ups may even find themselves scurrying up and down the piano stairwell a couple of times!

Some of the permanent exhibits include Fundamentally Food, which allows children to role play the growing of food on a farm, distribution to a grocery store, and consumption in a home kitchen. Next, there’s Tools for Solutions, the centerpiece of which is a contraption that carries balls over a number of tracks using corkscrews and cranes. Then there’s Let Your Creativity Flow, an area dedicated to the arts, complete with an art studio, a paint wall, and a stage for performances. Leaping into Learning is the small play area for guests younger than five. Finally, there’s Gateway to the World, which is devoted to teaching children about geography, topography, and culture.

The Imaginators, the museum’s professional acting troupe, lead field trip groups through the museum, create fun hands-on activities for kids, and put on fantastic programming, which includes original and lively 20-minute mini-musicals that are often themed to tie in with the current traveling exhibit. The Imaginators bring learning and play together in a fun way. Bring the family down to the Children’s Museum of Atlanta today for an educational & fun experience!

Legoland Atlanta

Enjoy family fun at the Ultimate Indoor LEGO® Playground’s 12 LEGO®-themed play zones. The attraction provides a two- to three-hour indoor experience that is exciting, engaging, and instructive for families with children aged 3 to 10. Legoland Atlanta has a 4D cinema, master classes from the LEGO® Master Model Builder, a thrilling LEGO® laser ride, customized party rooms for birthdays and other festivities, and the MINILAND exhibit depicting historic structures, all based on the ever popular LEGO® brick. A store selling LEGO® toys and other products, as well as a cafe where parents can have a Starbucks® coffee or purchase light snacks.

As soon as you enter, you’re greeted by the LEGO Master Builder, who demonstrated how the LEGO is constructed. It’s an excellent opportunity to learn about and see how this small brick become one of the world’s most popular toys. It’s also a clever method to spread out visitors arriving at the site. Kids may learn how their favorite building toy is combined, molded, painted, and made in general at interactive stations. Guests can use LEGO bricks to measure their height and weight!

Note that adults are required to have children to be allowed entry. Legoland does host adult-only nights for Adult Fans of Lego (AFOL.) Please check the website or Facebook page for updates on when those events will happen. To avoid overcrowding, tickets are timed and only allow a certain number of people in each hour. You’ll want to place your order ahead of time (bonus: it’ll be cheaper). After 4 p.m., tickets are cheaper, indicating that they expect crowds to thin out. Explore and engage with Atlanta icons at our stunning miniature LEGO® recreation of the city’s most well-known landmarks, which is made up of over 1.5 million LEGO® bricks!
